Your Budget Shopping Guide

Hello fellow shoppers, my name is Kara Lyons and you've arrived at my shopping blog. Make no mistake, I absolutely love to shop and when I'm not working I'm in the city shopping at my favorite stores. Since I shop often, I've learned how to spot the best bargains and I also know the best times to buy certain items. I hardly ever pay full price for anything I buy and I always take advantage of in store coupons and promotions. My love of shopping began when I was little and I would tag along behind my mom while she shopped. When I got old enough to shop for myself, I began to discover ways to get more for my money. If you also enjoy shopping, but you're on a budget, read my blog to learn how you can get the things you want and need without breaking the bank.

Give Historic-Themed Christmas Presents This Year

by Rebecca Simmons

Are you known by your friends and family members as the person who loves everything that has to do with history? Perhaps you love to read books like Gone With The Wind and The Winds Of War that relate historic events in a story form. Now that Christmas is coming up, you might have decided to live up to your reputation by giving historic-themed gifts to those on Christmas list. If so, from choosing posters and pictures from yesteryear to buying replica coins to frame, here are some ideas that might help.

Selecting Posters And Pictures - Have you ever been into a general store as you've visited small towns? If not, consider visiting one in your area. You may be surprised at the wonderful stuff that you can buy as Christmas gifts. For example, you might find old magazines with pictures in them that would be great for framing. There might be fun advertisements that tell a story of how life was in the olden days. And, there might be actual posters, or at least replicas, of classic movies. You might even find one with a scene from Gone With The Wind. Consider the way you'll frame the pictures and posters. For instance, you might want to put posters from cowboy movies into rustic wooden frames.

Buy Replica Coins - Giving coins from a company like Whispering Dreams Pewter to some of the people on your Christmas list is another way that you can relive history. For example, look for replica coins that are from early American history, say from the Civil War or from World War II. Those coins would be perfect for framing, too. Another idea is to give a youngster, whether your own child, a grandchild or any other young boy or girl that you care for, a coin that will be the beginning of a coin collection. For example, consider finding replica coins that bear the faces of different famous people in history, both American history and world history. Consider giving a collector's book to go with the coin or coins that you select.

Write a Letter: As you give your historic-based Christmas gifts, consider writing a short letter to accompany the gift. For example, if you have chosen an advertisement from a magazine, tell a little bit about how that product was used. If you have selected replica coins from World War II days, consider telling about a family member or a friend who served his or her country during that way.
