About Me

Your Budget Shopping Guide

Hello fellow shoppers, my name is Kara Lyons and you've arrived at my shopping blog. Make no mistake, I absolutely love to shop and when I'm not working I'm in the city shopping at my favorite stores. Since I shop often, I've learned how to spot the best bargains and I also know the best times to buy certain items. I hardly ever pay full price for anything I buy and I always take advantage of in store coupons and promotions. My love of shopping began when I was little and I would tag along behind my mom while she shopped. When I got old enough to shop for myself, I began to discover ways to get more for my money. If you also enjoy shopping, but you're on a budget, read my blog to learn how you can get the things you want and need without breaking the bank.

Fun And Creative Things To Put On Your Pittsburgh T-Shirts

by Rebecca Simmons

Selling Pittsburgh t-shirts is a great way to honor the city and give visitors something to take home. A simple t-shirt that says "Pittsburgh" across the chest is suitable for most purposes. But what if you want to go above and beyond, offering something more unique or creative? Here are some ideas you can draw from.

Steel

Pittsburgh has a long history of being involved in the steel industry. For centuries, the steel mills along the city's rivers created steel that was shipped across the country and used for a variety of purposes. This legacy lives on with the city's football team, the Pittsburgh Steelers. You can create shirts that have a steel mill on the front, or perhaps even an image of an item made from steel. Pair this with the name "Pittsburgh" and you have a pretty cool shirt. You can go a step further and have the text say "Pittsburgh, Home of the Steel Industry," if you prefer.

Food Specialties

Pittsburgh is known for its food scene. One thing the locals love is chipped ham sandwiches, which are sold at a lot of local delis. You'll also see pierogies and kielbasa all over the place. You could design a shirt that has floating images of each of these classic Pittsburgh foods. Then, print the text "Yum. Can you tell I was in Pittsburgh?" on the shirt. Or, alternatively, the shirt could say something like "Pittsburgh: Come for the food, stay for the food."

The Smiley Emoticon

The smiley emoticon is one most everyone is familiar with by now. Did you know that it was invented by a computer programmer in Pittsburgh? This is a fun fact to point out on a Pittsburgh t-shirt. You can put a big, smiley emoticon on the front of the shirt. On the back of the shirt, you can print the words, "Pittsburgh: birthplace of the smiley emoticon."

A Movie Theater

Another big claim to fame is the fact that Pittsburgh was home to the first movie theater. It opened in 1905 and was called Nickelodeon. You could make shirts with an image of an old movie reel on them. Under the reel, you can print "Pittsburgh: Where movies were made... first."

Hopefully, this article has given you some new ideas for your Pittsburgh t-shirts. If you think outside the box and include some things that Pittsburgh is known for, then you should be on the right track.
